We usually run the house low temp at night, and the old system took about 10 minutes to cool to that temp, and didn’t run much during the night.
Any ideas? I think the old blower was a single stage and the new is an ECM ( I checked). Could this be why? Does “more efficient†mean crappier cooling?

Answer:
If you have the means to monitor the energy used, you will see a difference. You are already experiencing that difference. Your old system blew hard and fast. The new one has incremental steps to provide the (most efficient) heating or cooling.
