I am getting a new Air source to Air Heat Pump (obviously with R410A). The tree huggers and liberals are at it once more and want to replace R410A with something like supercritical CO2 (I think in moon country they call it EcoCute or HelloKitty or something equally pervy and use it in water heaters). .
So my question is, if they needed to charge my heat pump again in say 8-9 years due to leaked refrigerant or some other issue, it will cost massively. Will it make sense to buy and store few cans of R410A while it is still cheap?

Answer:
You shouldn’t be allowed to buy 410a if you don’t have an EPA card.
